FREEFALL

Is there a moment when an artist’s creative journey begins?

How do we look at childhood drawings when we know their creators went on to become artists? And is the freedom of childhood imagination something we return to throughout our lives?

FREEFALL is a curated selection of childhood drawings and sculptures by artists who chose to become artists as adults; “fragile” fragments of precious memories of a time that feels like a dream, and dreams that feel like reality.

About childhood as a “physical eternity,” an endlessly long stretch of time, and summer as an eternity of its own.

Dedicated to Dmytro Pashchuk (Harmash), founder of the young art gallery Svitlo in Lviv, Ukraine, who was killed in the war.

A collaboration between Toloka Gallery and Gallery Svitlo.
