Ukrainian Cultural Center Toloka

Home for all friends of Ukrainein Washington State since 2023

Our Mission

Toloka is a vibrant space where the Ukrainian language, art, and contemporary perspectives unite people in an open community.

We create culture together with those who want to feel, discover, and integrate Ukraine into our shared cultural world — through art, dialogue, and collective action.

We support artists, uncover new meanings, and build bridges among people, generations, and cultures.

Our Vision

We envision Toloka as a vibrant, creative community where Ukrainian culture inspires, unites, and interacts with other cultures as it flourishes.

It is a place where everyone — regardless of background, religion, language, or experience — can connect with Ukraine through art, shared action, and lived experience, discovering, embracing, and sustaining Ukraine as part of their own world.

Our Values

We organize events only in Ukrainian and English. Third-party initiatives may rent the space, and the Toloka bears no responsibility for their content.

We speak Ukrainian, but we do not turn away those who have yet to master it. Toloka is open to people of diverse cultures who share our values — freedom, respect for human dignity, and support for Ukraine during wartime.

Megaphone

We do not cooperate with institutions, initiatives, or artists who have failed to publicly condemn Russia’s aggression or who continue to promote Russian culture in a context that ignores the war and cultural occupation. We believe in intercultural dialogue — but only when it does not diminish the trauma of a people now fighting for their freedom.
